All her life, she’s volunteered at various organizations, helping to improve the lives of rescued animals. So it was a fitting destiny that she and her mother came to own Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming in Mount Pleasant. “I always wanted to run my own business,” said Reid. “So, together with my mom, who had experience owning a business herself, we started Woof Gang in 2016. I felt Mount Pleasant needed a little neighborhood pet store with boutique-style grooming.” Unlike other groomers, Woof Gang offers one-on-one appointment- based services for each pet. “We don’t have a ton of dogs at once, so each pet comes in and is individually focused on, making the appointment stress- free,” said Reid. Woof Gang also offers pet food, toys, chews and, of course, baked treats. “Our main feature is the big treat table, where you can mix your own bag of fresh treats by the ounce,” said Reid. Her iced treats—like peanut butter rolled in oats and yogurt icing—are summer’s bestsellers. Other must-haves include dog booties to protect your pup’s paws on the hot pavement and sand, and water bottles with an attached bowl to bring on walks, to the beach or in the car.
